Prior to her success on reality television, Abby Lee Miller had created the Abby Lee Dance Company. She also spent much of her time guiding dancers through various dance competitions. Over the years Miller also encountered major legal issues that resulted in her being sentenced to jail. Abby Lee Miller was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on September 21st, 1965. Abby Lee was the daughter of a dance instructor and a studio owner. This meant that she was involved in dancing from an extremely young age. Abby Lee Miller, a Pittsburgher, learned to dance at the age of her mother's school. By the age of 14, she was choreographing and coaching some of the team's competition teams in the studio. 15 years later, she took control of the studio. Abby Miller's family comes from both English and Irish roots.
